I have a few of this style of light outside already, to make our pathways safe in the dark. They are really handy because you just affix them, they charge up on their own during the daytime and then come on as you approach them at night, lighting the ground and preventing trips over hazards on the ground outside. These have two screw holes along the top (they come with two screws and wall plugs), and I prefer the simplicity of a single central hole, but I was able to attach these with a single screw and they are so light that they stay horizontal with just one screw hole in use if you tighten them up slightly against a rough wall surface (see my photo). They have different modes, and when I first turned these on they were in the “always on at night" mode, which will just run the batteries down very quickly so I pressed the button on the front to switch them to "off at night until someone approaches" mode. This should keep the small amount of charge available for occasional trips past them outside at night. Note that the sensors on these aren’t quite as sensitive as on my existing lights, so I need to get a bit closer to them before they trigger, but they work well enough for my purposes. These are compact and lightweight.
