These little lights are fantastic, they are much brighter than expected.

This is a nice pair of attractive post cap lights. They are similar in construction and function to most other post cap lights on the market. However, I prefer the style of LED, light on these two lights, as opposed to many others which have a fake flame glow. These look much more like a real light bulb, which I guess they are! We put these in bright sunlight upon opening the box. We wanted to make sure that they were fully charged before use. We did test them inside our home in a dark room, just to see what kind of light they project. We were pleased with the effect. The perception of how much light is emitted is enhanced a bit, I believe, by the reflective panel which sits directly under the light bulb itself. In terms of installation, this comes with an adapter which allows you to mount the cap light onto a vinyl wrapped four by four post, or just the wooden post itself. Make sure to secure it with the screws, do not expect it to stay on without them. I‘m sure most of your questions can be answered by the instruction manual itself. It is fairly concise and complete. For us, these emit just the right amount of light! We are going to bestow a 5 star on this pair of solar post cap lights.

These lights work as intended and add a decorative touch to your fence posts. A complete set looks very nice. These caps have 8 solar powered led lights in them. They won‘t light the way like Rudolph’s nose, but a set will provide illumination up and down deck stairs. They are easy to install as well. These turn on at dusk and off at dawn (provided there’s been ample sunlight). In winter, they’ll last probably 4-5 hours. These lights are made totally of plastic, and over time the plastic gets brittle. (I’ve had similar fixtures before). These are not meant to last for years. They usually do well for about one or two years and I have to replace. I anticipate the same with these. At around 9 each, these lights are slightly pricier than previously purchased ones. At a fifty-buck price-point, each unit is $6.25 apiece. If these are deployed with an understanding they’re a temporary, disposable, solution (that’s how I see them), the expense may well be justifiable. If you live in a less-hostile climate than mine, you will almost certainly enjoy better functional-life from the product. Overall, I judge these fixtures “OK,” but not great, depending upon use-case. Four stars would seem both realistic and fair.
