Flood Lights Motion Sensor 6500K IP66 Waterproof (30W 3000LM)

During testing, I noticed it did get quite considerably hot, basically being on for about 10 minutes, the back plate was hot to the touch and I am talking piping radiator hot. I guess in a colder environment this wouldn‘t be a concern, but if you’re planning to take this anywhere in a hot climate I don’t know if this would burn itself out, unless it has some kind of mechanism to reduce power in order to cool itself down. This is just an observation but I did notice it drop to 25W so maybe, probably not though. The TIME control instructions states from 8 seconds to 12m, but when turning it to the lowest point, it seemed to work for 6 seconds, I tried moving it slightly and it still stayed at 6 seconds, moving it almost half way it activated for 20 seconds so I would say it’s not really precise in terms of controls. SENS being the distance it gets triggered at, I was under the impression that if you’ve put it to the highest, meaning it sees furthest and would also trigger anything close up also, but it seems to rather just ignore it. I moved LUX quarter away from maximum daylight which seemed to still trigger fine, but moving it half way, during a normal lit day time room, it did not seem to trigger any longer. Using a simple electrical plug meter, I can confirm it does just use 30W and 0 when off. I saw the cable slot can be unscrewed was hoping maybe it would be easy to change the wire, but seems tricky, best to just use a junction box to avoid damaging the what looks like silicon. The only way to access the internals would be from the front, prying the glass off, which looks like it has been sealed with silicon. This is unfortunate as you can still have it waterproof and accessible. Ultimately the benefit of this would simply be having everything packaged in one unit and no messing about having to add sensors. If you’re after something that allows the sensor to point to a slightly different angle, this is ideal too, but being sealed off and having to use a junction box is annoying, at least for me.

I bought this 30W motion sensor light for my backyard and garage area, and I’m genuinely impressed. The installation was very straightforward all the screws and fittings were included, and it only took me about 15 minutes to set up. The brightness is amazing for its size 3000 lumens really light up the entire space with a crisp, cold white glow (6500K). The motion sensor works perfectly, detecting movement from a good distance and turning on instantly. I also like that it’s mains-powered, so I don’t have to worry about changing batteries. The build quality feels solid and weatherproof; we’ve already had a few heavy rains, and the IP66 waterproofing seems to do its job perfectly. I also appreciate that the light doesn’t stay on unnecessarily it switches off automatically after a set time, which helps save energy. Overall, a fantastic, reliable outdoor light at a great price. I’ve just ordered another one for the front of the house. Highly recommended!
